With a banking and financial services career spanning nearly 70 years, Mr. Sandhu represents a generation of Sikh leadership built on integrity, seva, professionalism, and institution building. 

Beginning his career with Barclays in Tanzania in 1957, Mr. Sandhu later became one of the most respected Sikh banking professionals in Canada. From leading expansion at Khalsa Credit Union to facilitating billions in commercial lending during his leadership at Envision Financial, his career helped businesses grow and strengthened communities across British Columbia. Mr. Sandhu currently serves as Director of Business Development at East To West Group, a proud Sikh Canadian financial services firm.

He has managed Tanzania’s National Hockey Team during the 1980 Moscow Olympics, represented Africa on the Commonwealth Games Federation Finance Committee from 1978-86, and has been recognized with numerous honours, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the 2024 City of Surrey Good Citizen’s Award. 

At a time when Sikh professionals and entrepreneurs are building stronger economic and institutional footprint across North America, Mr. Sandhu’s leadership reflects the values, credibility, and vision needed where policy, governance, and strategic decisions are shaped. Sikh Canadians are not simply participating in the future of the country; they are helping define it.
